How does the coating wear? The idea of making the first TGR UK test bar, was for a proper road test (not simulated) of how the bar coating would perform long-term, and under the heaviest of use – remember, our gym is home to some of the world’s strongest lifters, so what better way to test it. At this stage of writing, the TGR UK Comp Powerlifting Bar has received some serious pounding, been in the van with kit a few times, and was used at the CAGE RAGE MAX event. All things considered, the wear is pretty good – there’s wearing around the bar contact points and some patches where it’s been caught against other metal in transit (we deliberately did not wrap it), but nothing that I do not consider reasonable to expect with use. So, the wear and tear is fair – I’d probably say it’s faired better than cerakote coated bars, which are currenty fashionable.
